A well-known figure in the Haitian music scene, Gary Didier Perez<\/strong>, former lead singer of the band Zenglen<\/strong>, has been facing a series of medical challenges over the past few years that have deeply impacted his life.<\/p>\n

Despite a career marked by vibrant performances and an iconic voice in konpa<\/em> music, the stage has faded into the background, giving way to a much more personal battle: the fight for his survival.<\/p>\n

In 2021, the public learned that the artist was suffering from kidney failure. Two years later, on October 12, 2023, he underwent heart surgery \u2014 a difficult but successful procedure. In January 2025, he revealed that he had spent eight days in the hospital, exhausted but still fighting. This May, a new diagnosis was added to his list of health issues: diabetes.<\/p>\n

In response to this alarming situation, the founder of the band Ozone<\/strong> launched a fundraising campaign to raise $40,000 USD<\/strong>. The goal is simple: to help Gary Didier Perez<\/strong> access specialized medical care and regain a quality of life worthy of his journey.<\/p>\n

Behind the artist is a determined man, now weakened, who hopes to rely on the public\u2019s generosity and the solidarity of the cultural community.
