In a series of videos published on May 5, 2025<\/strong>, Olympique Lyonnais<\/strong> announced the contract extension of Melchie Dumornay<\/strong>. The Haitian star is now tied to OL until 2029<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Having joined the club in summer 2023<\/strong> from Stade de Reims<\/strong>, Melchie Da\u00eblle Dumornay<\/strong> has delivered two outstanding seasons in the Lyon jersey \u2014 enough to win over the entire club and trigger her contract renewal, officially confirmed on May 5. The management of the current Arkema Premi\u00e8re Ligue<\/strong> titleholders thus reaffirmed their trust in the Grenadi\u00e8res\u2019 star<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Far surpassing her first season, Corventina<\/strong> has impressed in the French top division<\/strong>. She has scored 15 goals in 16 matches<\/strong>, with only Clara Mateo<\/strong> (Paris FC) posting better stats. The Mirebalais native<\/strong> also ranks among the top assist providers in the league.<\/p>\n

Despite a surprise Champions League semifinal exit<\/strong> against Arsenal<\/strong> \u2014 which may affect her Ballon d\u2019Or chances<\/strong> \u2014 Melchie shone, scoring in both the first and second legs. In total, she has 6 goals in 9 Champions League matches<\/strong>, earning Player of the Match<\/strong> honors twice.<\/p>\n

Now at just 21 years old<\/strong>, Dumornay<\/strong>, who can play both in midfield and attack, has become one of the key players in Lyon\u2019s squad<\/strong>. \u201cMy contract extension with OL shows how much I love this club,\u201d<\/em> she said. In 45 appearances<\/strong> for Lyon, Melchie has already netted 30 goals<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

With this extension, she could become the centerpiece of the Lyon project<\/strong>, especially with several veteran players expected to leave at season\u2019s end. Club president Michelle Kang<\/strong> has openly expressed admiration for the Grenadi\u00e8re.
